MBOX to PST tool to convert and access Apple Mail data to Outlook
Whenever the Apple Mail user gets the need to transfer emails to other platform like Windows Outlook, there is a need for MBOX to PST conversion. First of all, you should try to know about MBOX and Outlook PST file.
About MBOX file: MBOX file is primarily associated with Mac Operating systems like Thunderbird, AppleMail, Entourage, Eudora, Spicebird, Netscape, Pocomail, Mozillamail, OperaMail etc. It is an email storage format, which is used to organize your email messages in a single text file. At times of usage of Apple Mail in Mac operating systems, MBOX file can be located here “/User/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/ directory”.
About Outlook PST file: Outlook PST file is also known as Personal Storage Table and Outlook Data File. Outlook items like email messages, calendar, tasks, and other items that are saved on your computer, and kept in PST file format.
Nowadays, there are several third party present in web that can help you to convert Apple Mail data to Windows Outlook, but I would like to introduce here a manual method to do this conversion task successfully.
For a manual MBOX to PST conversion process, it is necessary to download and install an e-mail client that supports the import/export function. If you have done this installation process, then you can follow the bellow steps.
1.Open Apple mail application
2.Select Import Mailboxes option from the file menu at the top of the screen From “Import Data
3.From window, select the Other option and then click “Continue”
4.Select the Choose option, and then select the entire set of MBOX files which you want to export.
5.Click on Continue
6.Wait for the file(s) to import, and then go back to Apple Mail.
Now the following steps need to be performed in Outlook.
1.Change the name of the MBOX file to “filename.mbx”.
2.Transfer this file to new location in the newly installed e-mail client.
3.Start the new e-mail client.
4.Double click the MBOX file.
5.Close the e-mail client.
6.Open Outlook Express
7.Click File
8.Goto Import
9.Goto Messages
10.In Messages option click the newly installed e-mail client.
11.Click Next.
12.Browse for the MBOX file
13.Then click OK
14.Click Next
15.Click Next
16.Click Finish
17.Start MS Outlook
18.Click File
19.Goto Open section
20.Goto Import section
21.Goto Import Internet Mail and Addresses
22.Click Next
23.Check the Import Mail checkbox
24.From the options displayed select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or Windows Mail
25.Click Next
26.Find the imported mailbox, which will be located in “Outlook Today – [Personal Folders].”
